Many people have also suggested that reducing the duty on alcoholic beverages can stimulate our tourism and retail businesses, give rise to employment opportunities and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international cosmopolitan city. In view of the current financial situation, I consider that there is no scope for adjusting the duty this year. However, we will continue to keep this under review. |
